Fossil exhibit: compete!

This week was slightly more exciting than the last because Kaitlin was finally gone… I guess she left to look for her daughter (last seen in a deleted town :/) elsewhere. Crazy Redd came as usual on Monday, finally stocking a cabin chair after Kammile already ordered one for me, and on Tuesday I heard the wonderful noise of Gulliver’s UFO!

I didn’t have time to help find his lost UFO parts until later that evening, though. He sure sounds like he knows what he’s doing. >_>

I always love receiving statues from Gulliver! ^_^ Our anatomies are so different. 😆

After seeing two shooting stars in a very short timespan, I figured something was up and put away my tools. And wow, I’ve never seen so many in one night before! Sometimes there were two or three practically in a row, and even during less busy periods of time I didn’t have to wait too long to see another one.

After bringing out each of my characters to make a wish, I went to two places in town I like, the waterfall and island, to take pictures of the bow:

After a while, though, I knew I would have to start ignoring the shooting stars so that I could finish watering my flowers (what I turned on my game to do in the first place) and go to bed; it was painful to do because there was a string of them as soon as I equipped my watering can. >_<

When I was watering my blue pansy breeding area, I saw a new house there belonging to my new neighbor to replace Maple: Nan!

I can understand Nan’s nervousness, it was late. xP I really like her house, she seems studious.

Here’s a full picture of her house once I set up a path to it. This is my favorite house location in Dafdilly, I’m so glad someone lives here again!

The next day I received an unknown machine, black king, blue dresser, and this mummy’s casket from Wishy! It doesn’t fit my fruit kitchen at all of course, but maybe you could make an Egyptian tomb with it along with the ancient tile/wall and some treasure chests or something. 😛

When I realized I’d been neglecting Brewster I went to the Roost right away. He still seems to be friendly, though. 🙂

On Thursday all the trees I planted for Autumn were fully grown! 😀 And as you can see, one of the 1000 bells I planted grew into a money tree! I think it would look better in a money tree ‘orchard’ or in a special location, not this random place, but I guess I’m leaving it for now. 😛

Something I haven’t heard from Blathers in a while:

Before I could give it to him, I had to leave it outside and have all of my characters touch it since one of my long-term AC:WW goals is to complete all my characters’ catalogs.

Twisk’s fossil section is full because she dug them all up, and I thought my secondary characters had touched everything, but I guess they all missed the seismo skull somehow. 😛 I’ll keep an eye out for it and then I’ll never have to worry about fossils in Dafdilly again, they can go straight to Nook.

It does feel really good to have my first exhibit completed! 😀

As if I’m not already involved in the other exhibits? -_-

Having a celebratory coffee with Brewster 🙂

And of course checking out the completed exhibit and final fossil 😀

I found Peewee packed up yesterday, so he should be leaving tonight and gone by the next time I play. I won’t say “finally” since he grew on me, always complimenting my patterns and walking around my gardens with his watering can, but it’ll be nice to have another new neighbor. 🙂 He’s giving me quite the side-eye. 😆

Can you see a purple pansy in this picture? 😛

Since zooming in makes trees magically disappear, now you should. It’s my second one! ^_^

I put it on this peninsula where I keep the cool-colored pansies I’ve gotten so far. I figure I don’t have enough hybrids to decorate my town extravagantly — like lining paths or anything — so I just put most of them on my island. 😛

I thought it looked particularly vibrant this morning 🙂

I saw Dr. Shrunk frolicking there (and running through flowers ) later today.

Twisk was offered to learn sorrow, approval, confusion, or discontent. I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to learn approval instead of shock or something, but in the end figured that I already have two happy emotions, so a little variety (shock, shyness) is good.

Bell’s choices were sorrow, distress, thought, and anger. She learned sorrow and forgot disappointment, a good swap I think.

Laughter, exasperation, inspiration, and rage were Harmony’s options, and I went with laughter. 😀 (She and Melody didn’t have to forget anything.)

Melody also learned laughter! 😛 I just really love that emotion, I wish Twisk would learn it. Acceptance, realization, and sorrow were the other three choices for her.

Trying out my secondary characters’ new emotions that they will barely use 😛

I’ve never heard this night walker one before! It’s my neighbors’ impression of Kammile’s character Dawn. 🙂

I’m excited for tomorrow to see what my town looks like with the coming of October and its changes into fall colors! Hopefully my paths won’t look too bad. 😛 I’ll try to put up October’s information as soon as possible!

Preparing for October

Sorry for the gap between this post and my last one! For quite a few days now I’ve been planning on making a post, but I kept getting tired before I could finish. Also, ever since Teru told me about sprite ripping, I’ve been very distracted in trying to figure out how to do it myself (with no success :P). I’ll try not to be distracted from my next project: fixing my old posts (image widths, spacing) to look better with this theme (I used to have the theme Rounded, and briefly, Twenty Ten). My next highest priority project is to put up a patterns page.

Well, last week I kind of left everyone hanging about whether or not I won the Bug-Off, but I did! It’s my first trophy in this town! 😀 I was still wearing Teru’s lovely butterfly shirt that I appropriately wore for the Bug-Off itself.

There have been lots of rainbows in Dafdilly lately: this one last Monday, another a few days later, and one yesterday that I got multiple pictures of as it grew brighter and then faded.

I left the red vase I got from Saharah a while ago on the town hall pavement so that I wouldn’t forget to give it to Crazy Redd this time. 😛

What a heavy hint. 😆 I didn’t waste any time and went straight to Nook, not even stopping to see what it looks like.

I was surprised by how he carefully described his ‘glamour shot.’ 😛

It’s on my fireplace now:

I was very tempted by this crown since they don’t show up often, but I only had ~700,000 bells in my bank account at the time. I even started trying to make 300,000 bells so that I could buy it, but after selling all my fruit for about 100,000, I decided that it wasn’t the smartest thing to empty my bank account for. Besides, I bought one in my original town (saved in my dad’s town)… I kind of want to buy one in Dafdilly eventually, though, and a royal crown, too.

I’d heard two different requirements for pixie cuts: one being that you need to get all of the girl haircuts first and the other simply being that you need to get a certain number of haircuts (forgot how many >_<). It definitely seems like the latter because while I switch back and forth between various haircuts with Twisk, I've never even tried some haircuts on her, like one of my favorites, the bun.

I love the use of quotation marks here. 😆

As you can see by the timestamp, I was in the Able Sisters past 11 PM (they don’t kick you out like Nook does) completing the rest of my side path patterns. I finished laying them down the next day, and I’m going to have to do that all over again when the grass changes color again in October. -_-

Joey moved out Friday, but I got a picture before he left.

It was weird seeing his old house location empty since he was one of my original eight neighbors. (Pudge lives there now, who moved in after WiFing with Kammile. He’s not from her town, though, but from a Hybrid Heaven deliverer’s town.)

On Saturday night, Kammile invited me to come to StarCity to pick up some gifts she ordered just for me! 😀 It was my first time meeting her character Dawn. ^_^

She gave me three furniture items I’ve been wanting for a long time: a lovely phone, apple tv, and cabin chair! And later on she gave me a bag of 99,000 bells! 😯 Thank you, that was so nice! I wanted to give a few things in return, too, so I gave her an Arc de Triomphe model I got from Gulliver recently, a meadow vista, a groovy shirt, and a few plants.

She also let me hunt for buried treasure in her town; I found an executive toy, mini puffoid, lucky gold cat, lovely kitchen, round cactus, skeleton, anatomical model, lucky black cat (don’t think I’ve ever had this before!), big festive tree, oil drum, and arcade machine!

I still have lots of fireworks in storage, so I brought some over to set off during our WiFi meeting. 🙂 (I also brought some to Bundeena in the WiFi session covered in my last post, but forgot about them! >_<)

Her flower paradise island looks so lovely! We both have flower-filled islands (hers is bigger and has more hybrids, though) and matching paths now. 😛

Twisk and Dawn were morphed after visiting Gabi’s house and we had fun taking strange pictures of the sight.

Kammile prepares for things a lot sooner than I do (I’m a procrastinator :P); she first started preparing for her upcoming Halloween party in August, I think!

I love this dining room! The flowers on the table are a nice, realistic touch.

And I was excited to see this new sky balcony! 😀 I’ve had a room similar to this before (but not a balcony), with statues, columns, and an outdoor bath; I just love the atmosphere with the running water. Her new decor has really increased her HRA score as well!

…lol 😳 I was surprised to see that those button-controlled sayings work when sitting on a toilet, to be honest.

Dawn also played dress-up a lot, which was really fun, but I had to cut back on taking pictures because my camera’s memory card was getting full. Hopefully she got a lot more than I did!

She allowed me to explore her town when she went offline. There are lots of breeding spots and benches scattered throughout her town. 🙂

I checked out her museum and got bitten by a mosquito. >.<

I found this amazing self-made pond by the waterfall! It kind of reminds me of Katrina’s. I actually want to try making my own water, river, and pond patterns sometime, but I don’t know if they’ll turn out this good. 😛

And a real pond! 😆 The reason I took this is because it’s my favorite type of pond you can get. Not all towns have the same shaped ponds; this one, for example, only shows up in ‘blank’ acres that contain only villagers’ houses. I hope I get this pond in Trildale. 🙂

Wow, I love the patterns at her Ables’! Such a talented pattern-maker.

Next, Dawn came over to my town and I had time to put the furniture she gave me into my house real quick.

The lovely phone belongs in Bell’s room. ^_^ Its message was fitting since I was thinking about buying a crown earlier that week. 😛

Yay, the apple tv completes my fruit kitchen! 😀

I love this picture! 😆

We had time to visit some of my neighbors before I went to bed (as you can see, it was late), including Baabara, who used to live in StarCity — and we’re going to try to move her back there. Thank you again Kammile for the wonderful gifts and WiFi session! 😀

Yesterday I grew a black rose, and since I grew a purple rose last week, here’s an update on my blue rose breeding spot(s). Still haven’t gotten one, though. 😛

I also got my first bottlemail from a real person that day — from none other than Kammile’s character Devon! 😆

After depositing the money Kammile gave me along with some money I made myself the past several days, my balance was was over one million bells! Which means…

I got a tissue box in the mail later. 🙂 Once I bring over the ~5 million from my previous town (currently stored in my dad’s town), I’ll be well on my way to earning the piggy bank.

I re-arranged Bell’s room a bit now that I have the lovely phone and it’s pretty much complete. I would like some advice, though, on which of these is better:

(1) Set-up with the froggy chair and lily-pad table and a carpet of pink and green polka dots and stars

(2) Set-up with the green chair and green desk and a carpet of peach, pink, and yellow checks

The concept for Bell’s bedroom comes from how I imagine her as a character (elementry school age — hence the alarm clock and area for doing homework, etc.). I set up a poll:

There’s also a poll in my sidebar now. It’s just for fun, but I’m curious to see the votes!

So now you’ve seen how I used the lovely phone and apple tv, and here’s how I used the cabin chair Kammile also gave me:

My previous chairs might have been more colorful, but I think these cabin ones fit the rustic fairytale cottage feel I’m going for in this room more than econo chairs. 😛 (A cabin chair finally showed up at Crazy Redd’s today. Go figure. :P)

It rained for a little while yesterday, then cleared up and I was lucky to see all the stages of a rainbow:

Yesterday was also yay day:

haha, I said Peewee was a musical genius since he made Dafdilly’s town tune and I’ve been too lazy to change it to something better. 😛

Wow, it looks like Maple’s moving already. 😕

My biggest project I completed on Sunday was re-planting Dafdilly’s trees in preparation for October. First I recorded the trees as they were (shown as green, see Key in second map for other color meanings):

Then I planned my new trees:

As you can see by comparing these two maps, I kept the layout of trees mostly the same (I don’t have time to plan all new tree locations even though I’m not happy with my layout of trees), but strategically spread out different types of trees since they will all change to different colors in October and November depending on their types. Fruit trees are usually the darkest, money trees or oak trees planted with money are usually the second darkest (and at one point they are appropriately a really bright gold), and regular saplings you can buy from Nook are usually the lightest and the most green. Cedars and coconut palms don’t change color as much. I’ve been stocking up on axes and saplings since the beginning of this town and fortunately I had more than enough for the job. 🙂

A picture of an area in my sapling-filled town once I was finished. I got into the tree-planting spirit with this haircut and outfit. 😛

And now it’s full of baby trees!
